Bangkok Art Book Fair (2025)

For the 2025 edition, the theme Whispering Independent Together was expressed through the art direction and graphic identity developed by Studio150. Bold, oversized letterforms coexist with smaller informational text, reflecting the presence of different voices, opinions, and needs within a shared space.

The spatial design extended this concept into the physical environment of the fair. Through the arrangement of structures, circulation routes, and gathering areas, the design supported multiple activities taking place simultaneously across the venue, including the Main Fair and a series of special exhibitions located on different floors of the building.

Visitors were encouraged to move between book fair booths, exhibitions, and public programs through a continuous spatial experience. While each area maintained its own character and context, they remained connected as part of a larger framework, allowing independent initiatives to coexist within a shared event.

Alongside the Main Fair, special exhibitions by abC Art Book Fair (China), The Funambulist (France), and Atelier Hoko (Singapore) were presented across multiple levels of the venue throughout the duration of the fair.

Atelier Hoko (Singapore)

Featuring Science of the Secondary, a publication that examines everyday objects through multiple perspectives, alongside an exhibition that playfully questions what a book can be.

The spatial design employs cardboard boxes as the primary material, forming an enclosure that defines the exhibition space. By transforming an ordinary and widely accessible material into both architectural structure and display surface, the installation echoes the publication’s interest in re-examining the overlooked objects of everyday life.

White typographic texts are printed directly onto the cardboard surfaces and arranged in a continuous sequence, encouraging visitors to move through the space gradually—reading, observing, and making connections along the way. Rather than focusing on a single point, the exhibition unfolds through movement, turning walking itself into part of the reading experience.

Platform & The Funambulist (France)

A reading and listening space celebrating 15 years of The Funambulist and its ongoing engagement with political struggles across the world.

Drawing from the visual language of protest, fabric banners are suspended from a temporary scaffold structure, referencing tools often used to make voices visible in public space. Surrounded by a circular seating arrangement, visitors are invited to gather, read through the complete collection of publications, and listen to selected podcast recordings.

The space transforms the archive into a collective experience—one that encourages people to sit together, listen closely, and engage with stories of resistance, territory, and human existence.

abC (China)

A selection of books, posters, booklets, photographs, and archives celebrating 10 years of abC Art Book Fair.

The display draws from familiar visual languages found in Thailand—transparent plastic, neon lights, water-bottle counterweights, and everyday fastening straps—creating a temporary structure that feels both local and adaptable. These elements frame abC's archives as a visiting presence, momentarily situated within the context of Bangkok.
